St. Volodymyr’s Hill Park
A beautiful Park area to explore. Great for scenic pictures and an area full of monuments, fountains and peaceful calm green nature. The monument to Prince Volodymyr was erected in 1853, and is the oldest statue in Kiev (Kyiv). A new glass pedestrian bridge was opened in 2019, which links Saint Volodymyr Hill and the People's Friendship Arch. There are some super views across the river Dnieper so make sure you have your camera. To get to the Park you can take the historic funicular next to Poshtova Ploshcha metro station, or on foot via a steep accent if your feeling strong. It is a picturesque 3 minute ride by funicular, which will take you to the historic upper town next to St. Michael's Cathedral. From here you can enter the park and go towards the Prince Volodymyr monument, and then across the pedestrian bridge over to the People's friendship Arch.
