Kyiv Academic State Puppet Theatre
The Kyiv (Kiev) State Academic Puppet theatre is a spectacular building set amongst beautiful nature in Mariinsky Park.
This is an excellent theatre to take the kids but if you are out-and-about site-seeing, this is an equally enchanting theatre from the outside. The theatre is based on a fairy-tale castle surrounded by children's story characters such as Pinocchio and Thumbelina. The Kyiv puppet theatre is the oldest of its kind in Ukraine. It was originally founded in 1927 as part of the Kiev Franko theatre for children. It is situated in Mariinsky Park not far from the main street Khreschatyk and close to the Water Museum.
How to get there: From the main street Khreshchatyk walk towards European Square. When you get to the end of the street you will see you an underpass that will take you to the other side of the road. Now look out for some steps going into the park and climb up a small hill to reach Kyiv Academic Puppet Theatre.
