Oleg Antonov State Aviation Museum
The Oleg Antonov State Aviation Museum is situated very close to Kiev (Kyiv) Zhuliany airport. Can be a bit tricky to get to unless you are confident using a mashrutka or bus. Might be better to take a taxi.
The museum was named after Oleg Antonov and is one of the largest aviation museums not only in Ukraine, but also in the whole of Eastern Europe. Oleg Antonov State Aviation Museum is the youngest and, at the same time, the largest historical museum of the country's technical history. It was established in 2003, and its opening celebrated the 100th anniversary of world aviation. Whether you are an aviation fan or not, this is a really interesting place to explore. There are unique collections of all leading aviation groups from the Soviet period – Tupolev, Yakovlev, Ilyushin, Antonov, Sukhoy, Mikoyan-Gurevich, Kamov, Mill, Beriyev, as well as replicas of the early twentieth century. There are also a rare collection of MiG-15UTI and Mi-1M and many helicoptor's.
Make sure you ask for the right tickets, if you are with children you will definitely need the tickets that include access into the planes. Everything is pretty much outside so be sure to wear the right clothing to suit the weather. Highly recommended interesting and unique experience.
