Ukrainian Desserts

The signature cake of Kiev (Kyiv) is the Kyiv Torte which has been made in Kyiv, Ukraine, since December 1956. It has become a favourite cake of not only Kiev, but also throughout Russia and many Slavic countries. It is made with layers of crunchy hazelnut meringue and Ukrainian buttercream. All very decadent, delightfully delicious and absolutely Ukrainian.
